Visitors were spellbound by the range of flowers of different hues and colours at a flower show in Kolkata.
Organised by the Horticultural Society of India, the event drew participation from several countries, including South Africa, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Visitors were treated to a variety of flowers from different countries, which included flowers of bright colours, reddish pink, purple, dark blue.
"I know many of them have come from Mumbai and different parts of the country just to see the flower show. Once in a year, it takes place and a huge number of varieties of flowers come here from different parts of West Bengal-some come even outside West Bengal," said a visitor, Shekhar Gupta.
The Horticultural Society of India is planning to hold a meeting with flower growers in a month to make the annual event more attractive.
"Within a month we will be holding our first meeting where all the growers will be called. We will take their suggestions. We will present our analysis of thing section wise and then go for changes in the schedule wherever it is required," said organizer of flower show, Sujit Chakroborty.
