Former world heavyweight champion George Foreman believes that unbeaten US boxer Floyd Mayweather is not wrong in claiming that he should be considered as the greatest fighter of all time, even better than legendary boxer Muhammad Ali.

Earlier in the week, Mayweather had attracted widespread criticism as he said that he "couldn't care less" for upsetting people by claiming that he is better than Ali.

Mayweather claimed that although he respects Ali and acknowledge all the past champions, he had done just as much for the sport as Ali had done in his days.

In light of the mounting criticism against the American, Foreman said that pound for pound, Floyd is better than him and Muhammad Ali ever were, TMZ.com reported.

Foreman, who fought with Ali in the famous 'Rumble in the Jungle', believes that this is an amazing and better generation by far as they are smarter; stronger; and are overall just better fighters.

Mayweather would go head-to-head against Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao in a mega bout on May 2 in a bid to prove that he is the greatest fighter of his generation.

Despite his belief that Mayweather is the superior talent, Foreman believes that Pacquiao would emerge as the eventual winner in the 'fight of the century' bout.
