Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Thursday said the Government is ready to resolve all issues with students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), and added that they have not been harsh with the students.

"We've not been harsh with students (FTII students) at all, we've been extremely liberal with them. Unfortunately, the students have taken extreme hard lines," Rathore told media at a press conference here.

"We are ready to resolve all issues. We have had multiple talks with them. There have been innumerable backdoor negotiations with the students... But the people who are negotiating have given up," he added.

The FTII students are on a strike demanding the removal of TV actor and BJP member Gajendra Chauhan as the chairman.

Academic activity at the FTII is at a standstill with students being adamant over Chauhan's removal.
