Senior Congress leader P.C. Chacko on Wednesday criticised the government for remaining a mute witness to the swine flu epidemic.
"1,500 people have died, 30,000 people are affected, more and more people are detected and the government is remaining a mute witness. They are not taking action, so we want to create awareness amongst people," P.C. Chacko.
The Congress party has organised a three-day awareness campaign for swine flu in the capital, calling upon their MLA candidates, corporation candidates and former district presidents for support.
The swine flu epidemic has claimed 1,500 lives till now while more than 27,000 people have been left affected by the disease.
Symptoms for swine flu include high fever, headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain and internal and external bleeding.
