Greek police has detained several people over alleged links to a suspected terror plot in Belgium.
One of the men is believed to be in contact with the cell in Verviers, Belgium, where a shootout with police left two suspects dead on Thursday, reported the BBC.
Europe is on high alert since Islamist militants killed 17 people in Paris. More than 20 people have been taken into custody in Belgium, France and Germany.
Troops were deployed across Belgium to guard sensitive locations. A series of operations have been launched on Thursday evening to nab a group of suspected jihadists.
The police have seized guns, munitions and explosives, as well as police uniforms and a large amount of money during the operation.
Prosecutors said that the group had planned to kill cops and charged five people with" participating in the activities of a terrorist group" on Friday.
