Congress MP from Gurgaon, Rao Inderjit Singh, resigned from the party on Monday.

Singh, who was recently in news for training his guns on the party's central leadership and on the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Haryana Government seeking fair probe into charges against UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra in controversial land deals, told a gathering here that he will not contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on a Congress ticket.

"I quit the Congress today," he said during the Shaheedi Samman Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rao Tula Ram.

A four-time legislator in Haryana since 1977, Inderjit was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998, and re-elected in 2004 and 2009.
