Hooch death toll rises to 12 in East Midnapore District

The death toll of the hooch tragedy has risen to 12 after consumption of spurious liquor in Tamluk of East Midnapore District of West Bengal.

Earlier in the day, at least ten persons had died and four others had fallen sick.

Sixteen people have been arrested so far in connection with the incident.

Superintendent of Police Alok Rajoria said eight deaths had been reported from Narikeldaha and Kiyarana villages.
