Hyderabad: Inebriated man rescued from lion enclosure

Alert employees of a zoo in Hyderabad yesterday safely rescued a man who fell into a lion's enclosure after getting drunk.

Fortunately for Mukesh Kumar, he fell into a water body in the enclosure. The vigilant staff of Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad started making loud noises and throwing stones at the two lions in the cage which had started approaching Kumar.

The distracted animals eventually backed off and ran away. The staff then pulled Kumar out of the cage with a stick.

Kumar later confessed to getting drunk with friends inside the zoo.

"We had a drink in the zoo premises. I don't know from where they got it. Sir, please let me go," said Kumar.

 

Mukesh said he was from Rajasthan and came to Hyderabad a month ago.

As per reports, he worked as a labourer for the Hyderabad metro railway.

He was handed over to police for probe in the matter.
