Australia Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop on Tuesday assured External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj of an 'expeditious investigation' into the murder of Indian IT consultant Prabha Arun Kumar in Sydney in March.
Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin shared the conversation between the two leaders via twitter.
"EAM @SushmaSwaraj asked FM @JulieBishopMP - Perpetrators of the tragic murder of Mrs. Prabha Arun Kumar be caught,arrested and brought to book," he posted.
"FM @JulieBishopMP assured EAM @SushmaSwaraj - A Special Task Force,constituted for expeditious investigation of Mrs. Prabha's murder case," he added.
Earlier in the day, Swaraj and Bishop chaired the 10th India-Australia Framework Dialogue in the national capital. During her three-day visit to India, she has also met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti.
