Innovation is key to achieve dreams: PM Modi

He also said that science is universal but technology needs to be localised for growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid emphasis on innovation as the key to achieve dreams, adding that the institutions in India must concentrate on innovation.

"To achieve one's dreams, innovation is the key. Our institutions must place their focus on innovation," Prime Minister Modi said while addressing the first ever visitors conference at the Rashtrapati Bhawan today.

The Prime Minister further said that science is universal but technology needs to be localised for growth.
 

 

"Our initiative on solar energy has surprised many but if we are doing innovation in technology and energy, it can be a big service," he said.

 

He said that the biggest strength of 'Make in India' is human capital and added that skill development is extremely vital.

"Society is becoming technology driven. It is essential to understand the importance of this and look towards affordable technology," he said.

"The biggest strength of 'Make in India' is human capital. Skill development is very essential," he added.

Prime Minister also released the IMPRINT India brochure and handed over the first copy to President Pranab Mukherjee.

IMPRINT India is a Pan-IIT and IISc joint initiative to develop a roadmap for research to solve major engineering and technology challenges the country.
