The president of Italian side Inter Milan has said that they are very close to completing a deal that will bring them Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic.

The Serbian defender will become officially free at the end of the season, with the Italian club keen to sign him.

According to the BBC, Erick Thohir said that deal is almost '90 percent completed' although he added they would make an announcement when everything is complete.

Vidic, who has been at United since 2006 after a seven million-pound move from Spartak Moscow, confirmed earlier this month he would be playing abroad once his contract with United expired this summer.

Inter is fifth in Serie A, 11 points behind third-placed Napoli, who hold the last qualifying spot for next season's Champions League, the report added.
