Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday said that the Janta Parivar is committed to protect the nation's integrity and unity, adding that those hatching a conspiracy against the minorities would be given a befitting reply by the people of this country.
"We (Janta Parivar) can die for the country's unity and integrity but we will not let them succeed in dividing the people. They are hatching a conspiracy against the minorities. This is why we the Janta Parivar have come together and we want to warn them that if you want to divide the country, then the people of this country would not forgive them," he told the media here.
The former Bihar chief minister, however, avoided commenting on Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's take on the merger of Janta Parivar.
The RJD chief had earlier on Wednesday that all parties of the Janta Parivar are united.
According to reports, the merger of Janata Parivar seems to have been delayed because the six constituents are unable to agree on an election symbol.
The Janata Parivar merger move has gained momentum to counter the growing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre.
