Janata Dal (United) leader K C Tyagi on Monday took pot shots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government for criticizing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and recalled how the former had praised the TMC supremo during his Lok Sabha election campaigning.
"During Prime Minister's (Narendra Modi) visit to Kolkata during election campaigning, he had said Mamata was working right, and said allow me to work in Delhi. Then at that time she was good. The moment she started criticizing how come she has become bad," Tyagi told ANI here.
Recently, the TMC supremo had lashed out against the Centre for targeting her party in lieu of her recent participation in a Congress event in remembrance of former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
She also accused Prime Minister Modi-led government of carrying out a selective vendetta against herself and her party and challenged the Centre to arrest her and impose President's rule in her state. She also attacked the Centre for creating an atmosphere of instability across the country.
During pre-Lok Sabha election campaigning this year, Prime Minister Modi at a rally in Kolkata had referred to the West Bengal Chief Minister saying that while she could work for the development of the state, he be given an opportunity to serve its people from the Centre.
