Jennifer Hudson is all set to headline the cast of NBC's 'Hairspray Live!' alongside Harvey Fierstein on December 7.
The show, which is based on the cult John Waters' movie set in 1960s Baltimore, concerns the full-figured Tracy Turnblad, whose fondest wish is to appear on a local television dance program, reports News24.com.
The 34-year-old actress will be portraying the character of Motormouth Maybelle.
Meanwhile, Fierstein, who is also writing the teleplay, will cross-dress and play Edna Turnblad, Tracy's mother.
The new live musical will be directed for TV by Alex Rudzinski.
