Jwala-Ashwini storm into third round of World Badminton C'ships

Indian ace shuttlers Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa cruised into the third round of the World Championships after defeating Hsieh Pei Chen and Wu Tin Jung in the women's doubles event in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Jwala and Ashwini overcame the Chinese Taipei duo 21-10, 21-18 in the second round contest that lasted over 24 minutes.

The 13th seed Indian duo will next take on Reika Kakiiwa and Miyuka Maeda of Japan in the pre-quarters.
