Coming down heavily upon the state government over the recent molestation case at the Government Medical College (GMC) here, senior Congress leader Nawang Rigzin Jora said the government is trying to save the accused.

"Rather than giving justice to the brave girl, the entire government is trying to save the molester. Our demand is that the doctor should be terminated from service," Jora told ANI.

After repeated attempts of apprising the government, the Congress leader further expressed disappointment over the inaction shown by the government.

"About fifteen-twenty days back, a medical student was molested by Forensic Sciences Head of the Department (HOD) Dr. Bhupesh Khijuria. We took the matter up with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. All the 4 MLAs from Ladakh region apprised her of the matter. Subsequently, we also raised it in the assembly, that too twice. I went and met the governor as well," he said.

A Ladakhi student, pursuing medicine at the GMC in Jammu, was allegedly molested by the Head of the Department (HOD) of Forensics of the college on December 20th.
