Maoists have killed a group area commander identified as Dubraj Manki along with his wife and another in Jharkhand.
Police said early investigations reveal that the Maoists gunned down their fellow group members after an exchange of fire.
"Maoists have killed an active member of their group Dubraj Manki who was an area commander along with his wife and one more person Surya Hansda," said Superintendent of police from Khunti district, Anish Gupta.
According to the villagers, they had heard the gun being shot at night and in the morning they saw the dead bodies lying near the village road.
Gupta added that there was internal conflict between the members of the Maoist group.
"There was some internal dispute within the group which has come to our notice from past three months due to some personal agendas. This incident could be the result of the same internal dispute," he added.
A police probe is underway.
