In a bid to exert pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) alliance government in Punjab over the Moga incident, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress held vociferous protests in different parts of the state on Saturday.

The Congress workers staged a 'Rail Roko' protest in Amritsar, while the AAP agitated against the state government in Sangrur.

"There is jungle raj in Punjab. The orbit bus drivers drive around intoxicated with the backing of the government," said AAP leader Bhagwant Mann.

Meanwhile, National Commission for Scheduled Castes chairman P.L.

Punia met the family members of the teenage victim.

"A case should be registered and the transport company should be shut down," Punia said after the meeting.

A 13-year-old girl died after she and her mother were allegedly pushed off a moving bus after resisting a molestation bid on April 29.

Locals rushed the two to a nearby hospital where the girl was pronounced dead.

The incident took place on a highway connecting Moga and Bathinda.

As per reports, four people, including the bus driver and his attendant, have been arrested.

The bus reportedly belongs to Orbit Transport Company, owned by Orbit Aviation Pvt Ltd, which is co-owned by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The police have impounded the bus.
