One person has been reportedly arrested and remanded to police custody for the alleged vandalisation of an under-construction church in Haryana's Hisar district.
Police are currently investigating the case and some other suspects are also being questioned with regard to the case.
On Sunday, an under-construction church was demolished in the Kaimri village in Hisar, with the miscreants responsible for the attack hoisting a flag with 'Shri Ram' written on it.
According to reports, the villagers were angry over alleged efforts by a priest to convert locals to Christianity.
The police had registered a case against 14 people named by the priest.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had also demanded a comprehensive report over the incident and asked the state government to find out if any group was involved in the incident.
The Home Ministry also urged the Haryana government to take steps to protect minority religious institutions and to ensure that no such incident occurs in the future.
