ANI Washington DC (USA)

The United States has said that the Taliban leaders are "living in comfort in Pakistan with plenty of drug money".

CNN reported US General John Nicholson as saying that the Taliban leaders were "living in comfort outside of the country with plenty of drug money" while the rank and file fighters were dying in Afghanistan.

US President Donald Trump had announced a strategy for Afghanistan and surrounding areas to fight out Taliban from their soil, but Pakistan is yet to make a move in this line, said the commander of US and international forces in Afghanistan, reported CNN.

"We have not seen those changes implemented yet," Nicholson told reporters.

He added, "We are hoping to see those changes. We are hoping to work together with the Pakistanis going forward to eliminate terrorists who are crossing the Durand Line."

The White House recently slammed Pakistan for allowing Hafiz Saeed, 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind, a Lashkar-e-Taiba member, to walk free.
