Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will inaugurate the India Dairy Summit 2013 that is to be held at the Hotel Lalit on July 24 here.
The event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian industry (CII) in association with Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India and with the support of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
Pawar will be the chief guest at the event.
The key objective of the summit is to create a platform for all players and stakeholders in the dairy sector value chain to come together to:
Identify a set of concrete interventions - policy and others for raising productivity

Identify synergies and opportunities where the private sector can work with the Cooperative for strengthening entire dairy value chains
Share experiences and expectations from government - Central and State and build a roadmap with sustainable and inclusive solutions towards a Second White Revolution.
With this background and to provide a focus on the future development and growth of the dairy industry in India, the discussions during the summit would revolve around - Sustainable and Inclusive Solutions towards Second White Revolution.
The summit will be addressed by eminent national and international speakers and will be attended by a large number of delegates from all over India and from other parts of the world.
These would include G C Pati, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. (Ms) Amrita Patel, Chairperson, National Dairy Development Board and Dr.A K Srivastava, Director and Vice Chancellor, National Dairy Research Institute.
