A demonstration was taken by people against Naxals for attacking the security forces on July 2.
The demonstrators burned effigies of Naxals and spoke against the attack by them on a police convoy, which killed six policemen, including Superintendent of Police of Pakur, Amarjit Balihar, near Dumka district of Jharkhand.
Police Superintendent Balihar was on the radar of Naxals ever since he was posted at Pakur due to his tough stand against them.
The demonstrators accused Naxals of extortion and terrorism.
"The Naxals have diverted from their objective. The Naxal movement has turned into a terrorist organization. Their sole objective is to kill innocent police personnel and people. They want to extort money by threatening people through these killings to procure arms and ammunition," said Kailash Sahu, a resident of Ranchi.

The frequency of the attacks on security forces has forced the people to take to the streets in protest.
"Whatever happened was wrong because police is there to help us. Naxals have always been against security forces. But resorting to such killings is not a solution to their problems because many innocent people are also killed in the process. They should sit down at the negotiating table to solve differences," added another resident Kawaljit Singh.
This is the third attack by Naxals in the span of a month.
They attacked a Congress convoy killing 28 people, including senior leaders like Mahendra Karma and VC Shukla in Chhattisgarh.
They also attacked a passenger train in Bihar, which claimed three lives.
