Police have confirmed the arrest of two militants of the armed separatist outfit National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) in Assam's Tezpur District.
Police was acting on a tip-off when they arrested militants at Kolia Bhomora Bridge which is located between Nagaon and Sonitpur districts of the state.
Heavy arms and ammunitions were recovered from the two militants, including a woman.
The police said the militants are a married couple; the woman has been identified as Bailshree Narjari, while the man as Jolin Narjari.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sonitpur district, Sanjukta Parasar, said the militants were arrested while they were passing over the bridge on a motorcycle.

"At around 5.30 (0000 GMT) in the evening, our teams of Assam police, along with 12 Assam rifle and 210 Cobra held a check-post acting on a tip-off. On the Kolia Bhomora bridge the militants were passing on a motorcycle. We recovered two bags consisting modern arms and ammunition from them," said Parasar.
She added 33 rifles; an m39 grenade launcher, 60 rounds of bullets, 16 grenade shells, two mobile phones, 13 SIM cards and a bunch of documents with pro-militancy texts were recovered from the militant couple.
Parasar also said preliminary investigation hints the couple was involved in supplying arms and ammunitions to the militant outfit.
