President Pranab Mukherjee has greeted fellow citizens on the occasion of Idu'l Fitr, which marks the culmination of the period of fasting and prayer during the holy month of 'Ramzan'
"I extend my greetings and best wishes to my fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Idu'l Fitr. Idu'l Fitr marks the culmination of the period of fasting and prayer during the holy month of 'Ramzan', and infuses in us a sense of brotherhood and spirit of joy," said President Mukherjee in his message.
President Mukherjee said this festival with its spirit of giving and sharing inspires all to work towards building a harmonious, peaceful and prosperous society.
"Let us re-dedicate ourselves on this day to the service of humanity and to elevate the life of poor and the needy. May Idu'l Fitr instill in all of us a sense of the essential unity of all faiths and pride in the composite culture of India," he added.
