The staff at a popular restaurant chain called the cops on their customers with hyper toddlers.

Eli Gau, who was eating at an 'Applebee's in Katy, Texas, with his partner, Lillian, and their sons Ryan, Ethan, was told by the manager that his children were making too much noise, Stuff.co.nz reported.

According to Texas news channel KHOU, the manager of the restaurant then called the authorities and asked the family to leave.

Gau, who was left "heartbroken" after the experience, was also given a warning for criminal trespassing on their way out.

A spokesperson for Applebee's told KHOU that the management had failed to handle the situation properly.

Gau also declined the offer for free dinner passes given by the restaurant chain.
