Sir Alex Ferguson has won the coveted 'Manager of the Year' award by the League Managers' Association (LMA) for a fourth time after guiding Manchester United to its 20th title.

Ferguson is the only person to secure the award four times.

In his final game in charge of United against West Brom, Freguson said he was happy that it was all over now, because it is hard work.

The BBC quoted Ferguson, as saying that West Brom Manager Steve Clark should be awarded because anyone scoring five against United deserves an award.

The match between United and West Brom ended in a 5-5 draw.

Ferguson's successor David Moyes, who has won the award thrice, will be taking charge at Old Trafford from 1st July.

The retiring manager was proud of all the people who worked hard towards building the club.
