Saddam Hussein's execution noose set to fetch millions at auction

The rope used to execute ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in 2006 has been put up for sale by Ex-Prime Minister Mowaffak Al-Rubaie.

A source said that several individuals from Israel, Iran and Kuwait are vying to purchase the rope, with one making a 7 million USD (8.9 million dollars) bid and despite the ridiculous offer, Al-Rubaie says he wants even more, News.com.au reported.

Al-Rubaie had said in 2013 that his men brought him back the segment of the rope "after they cut Saddam down."

The Iraq government has not commented, but local law states that if the item is sold, the money must go to the state's treasury.
