The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday reserved its judgement on the continuance of Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), G. Bhavani Singh's association with the disproportionate assets case linked to former Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalithaa.

After hearing extensive arguments from the DMK leader K Anbazghan, who sought removal of SPP, Singh, and the defence, a three-judge bench reserved its order which is now likely to be pronounced on Monday.

"The matter has been discussed by both the lawyers. As per the report, it has been revealed that he has made a reasonable explanation. This extension cannot be made and is not essential. The extension has been given up to May 12," said lawyer R. Krishnamoorthy.

The apex court had earlier extended the bail plea of AIADMK Chief, J.Jayalalithaa till May 12 in connection with the disproportionate assets (DA) case against her in which she was sentenced to four years jail.

The Karnataka Special Court had sentenced Jayalalithaa to four years' of rigorous imprisonment besides slapping a fine of Rs 100 crore on the AIADMK Chief.
