In view of the 'Black Day', Demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, elaborated security arrangements have been made by the city police to ensure peace, with various political parties and religious groups announcing a string of protest programmes.
"Tomorrow is the 'Black Day. Many political parties will come. We have deployed 1,500 policemen in sensitive and vulnerable areas to avoid untoward incidents," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) V. Satyhanarayana.
"We have already taken into custody 150 rowdies and severely warned them as they are continuously involved in communal issues. By and large it is quiet and peaceful. We are ready to neutralise any situation," he added.
