West Indies batsman Dwayne Smith's magnificent 79 helped Chennai Super Kings bag their sixth consecutive win in the Indian Premier League, solidifying their position at the top of the league with an eight-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils on Monday.

The opener reportedly smashed eight sixes and four fours in 51-balls, while sharing partnerships of 82 and 86 with Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina respectively, to help the visitors chase down the 179 run target with two runs to spare at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi.

According to Sport24, the Chennai Super Kings lost the toss and their opponents the Delhi Daredevils opted to bat, knocking off 179 target for skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men.

Smith and McCullum reportedly made a flying start to the response and the chase found pace in the fourth over as Jaydey Unadkat got dispatched for three consecutive sixes by the big-hitting West Indian.

McCullum got out in the 12th over, picking Murali Vijay at long-on off Luxmi Shukla, but new man Raina settled in with equal ease and smashed two of his first three balls for boundaries.

The Smith-Raina partnership got broken as the opener got dispatched with 11 runs still left for the Chennai Super Kings to score, but Dhoni delivered a six and four in the final over to seal the win for his side, the report added.
