Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) president N. Srinivasan has left for Kolkata to attend a board meeting, even as a local court here remanded his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan to police custody for an additional five days till May 29.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police revealed on Saturday that Meiyappan has tampered and forged documents, and was involved in selling team-related strategies for a considered amount.
Meiyappan, however, defended himself, by saying that if I was selling team strategies, I would not have been losing bets.
Earlier on arrival to Mumbai, N. Srinivasan maintained his defiant stand and said that he had done nothing wrong with regard to the Indian Premier League, and categorically refused to resign from his position.
Srinivasan told the media outside Mumbai Airport that: " I have done nothing wrong. I have no intention to resign. I cannot be bulldozed. This is all a political game and conspiracy. The BCCI will follow strictly all of its rules. The law will take its course."
Srinivasan was earlier scheduled to meet son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan at around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, but he opted to leave for Kolkata in a chartered flight.
