Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D.Raja on Tuesday said Muslims need appropriate affirmative action from the Government of India to overcome their existing plight.
"Access to education and employment is an issue for a majority of Muslims, especially Muslim women," Raja said.
"The Justice Sachar Committee Report talked about the miserable condition of Muslims living in India," he added.
He told ANI, "There must be an adequate consensus as Vice President Hamid Ansari has pointed out."
Raja said, "We should strive to build an inclusive society for which we need economic inclusion."
Vice President Ansari described the government's resolution towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's idea of ' Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' as commendable, but said that the 'essential pre-requisite for this is a positive action to ensure that everyone moves forward together.
