The ABVP's JNU unit on Monday asserted that stringent should be taken as per the law against those who raised 'anti-national slogans' so that such incidents don't get repeated in any of the educational institutions in the country.
"The stand of ABVP is very clear that action should be taken against those who are accused and who raised anti-national slogans so that it sends a strong message that there is no repetition of such incidents in JNU as well as other educational institutions in the country," ABVP's JNU unit president Alok Singh told ANI.

"The judiciary should take action as per the law if there is any matter and someone is accused in that. It is not right to conduct media trial and the faculty trial which is being conducted at present in the university. They should allow the court to decide," he added.
He also said that they are also planning to meet JNU vice-chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar to maintain a peaceful atmosphere inside the university campus.
All five students, including Umar Khalid, who were accused of sedition and were absconding, surfaced on the JNU campus last night.
They had gone missing after JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested and charged with sedition following an event held on the campus against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru where 'anti-national' slogans were allegedly raised.
