Condemning the voting process conducted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after evicting the Opposition, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday said that the voting was a democratic process which had been conducted in an undemocratic way.

"A democratic process has been conducted in an undemocratic way. The Opposition leader requested for secret voting but the speaker evicted them and conducted the voting secretly. It is a very ridiculous process which took place," Soundararajan told ANI.

She further said that the voting which took place was against the wish and will of the people of Tamil Nadu, as the people want a government free from corruption and stable government.

Earlier on Saturday, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president M.K. Stalin and other MLAs were detained by police for protesting against the floor test result at Chennai's Marina Beach.

Amid the uproar in the Tami Nadu Assembly during Saturday's much-anticipated floor test, Palanisamy won the vote of confidence with 122 MLAs supporting him.
