Trinamool Congress on Tuesday staged a walkout from Lok Sabha opposing the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill.

Taking part in the debate on the bill, party leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay said that party was against "constitutional immorality" committed by the government.

"If we take part in voting, vote in favour or against the bill, we will become partners to the bill. We decide to walk out," Bandyopadhyay said.

He said leaders of political parties should have been consulted about the major decisions taken by the government concerning the state.

He said no atrocity should take place in Jammu and Kashmir and the residents of the state should stay with full confidence as Indian citizens.

Bandyopadhyay said that there were apprehensions about the steps taken by the government and situation should not worsen.

He also talked about the house arrest of leaders of PDP and National Conference.

Trinamool Congress had staged a walk out from Rajya Sabha on Monday when the bill was discussed in the upper house.
