The Pentagon has announced that the global coalition airstrikes led by the United States have hit the Islamic state targets near the captured Syrian town of Kobane on the border with Turkey.
U.S. Central Command announced that an IS building and two armed vehicles were destroyed in the airstrike.
Other strikes have hit IS targets in places in Syria and northern Iraq.
Kurdish fighters have been protecting Kobane from IS, reported the BBC.
Almost 1,40,000 civilians have fled from the Kobane town and surrounding area of Turkey.
