A judge in California has directed Uber to pay a USD 7.3 million fine for not giving regulators enough information about its service and operations.

The California Public Utilities Commission, the regulator that allows the tax-hailing app to operate in the state, accused the company of withholding details on accidents and on how often it provided access to disabled passengers in California, reported the BBC.

The firm has said that it will appeal against the decision.

It has up to 30 days to file an appeal before its licence to operate in California is cancelled.

Uber has been embroiled in several legal battles around the world over its operations.
