Whatsapp crashes for hours days after $19 billion takeover by Facebook

Whatsapp users were reportedly angered after the messaging app went out of service for hours, following server issues on Friday night.

The app, which was recently acquired by Facebook for 19 billion dollars, found itself it the midst of an outrage after Whatsapp users took to Twitter to vent out their angst against the glitch.

According to Cnet, the service became unavailable to a large number of users starting at about 11 a.m. PT Saturday, after a 20 minute outage on Friday night.

The outrage was confirmed after users started updating status messages on WhatsApp's and Twitter, criticizing its services.
