Wildcard which focused on building a new browser which was based on cards instead of webpage has launched it version two of its app.
According to The Next Web, the update of Wildcard focuses on news and presents them in a very readable way.
It presents relevant news curated by a combination of human and machine curated techniques on the home screen.
The new Wildcard's each story surfaces a variety of different content to tell the story
Jordan Cooper, Wildcard CEO said about shifting to news from the original concept including purchasing of goods and other content that they had a proof of concept but found that people didn't buy anything. Instead, the team discovered people read, watched videos and viewed images, so doubled down on news and media.
Cooper says about Facebook Instant Articles and Apple News that Wildcard thinks users can do better than the small set of news that Facebook's algorithm decides is appropriate for them.
