After unveiling the updated CR-V, Honda will be showcasing three new Earth Dreams Technology engines including, a 1.6 liter i-DTEC diesel engine and 1.5 i-VTEC and 1.3 i-VTEC petrol units, at the Paris Motor Show 2014.

First in the list is an all-new 1.6-liter i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel engine, which makes its way under the hood of updated CR-V's four-wheel drive variant, replacing the previous 2.2-litre i-DTEC motor. The new engine churns out max. power of 160 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque, which comes coupled with a six-speed manual or a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The new engine is lighter than the previous unit and provides smooth, seamless ratio changes and contributes into better fuel efficiency. Emitting a class-leading sub 130 g/km of CO2, the unit also offers 11 percent more torque compared to the predecessor. The two-wheel drive diesel CR-V, available with a manual transmission, will continue to be equipped with the 120 PS-1.6 liter i-DTEC diesel engine, now with emissions as low as 117 g/km.

To go on sale in summer 2015, company's front wheel drive HR-V, offers two engine options, a 1.5 i-VTEC petrol and the same 1.6 i-DTEC diesel. Both engines comes coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.5 i-VTEC unit can also be fitted with a semi-automatic CVT alternative.

Alongside the HR-V, brand's new Jazz will also be marking its presence at the show. According to Honda, the new Jazz offers better performance and improved fuel efficiency, courtesy a new 1.3 liter i-VTEC petrol engine, that comes mated to a CVT or a new six-speed manual, ditching the previous five-speed unit.
