Australian share market finished session higher on Tuesday, 23 January 2018, snapping a five-session losing streak, as investors welcomed an end to the US government shutdown after US senators struck a deal. Gains from the big banks and ResMed (RMD) are the biggest contributors to the gains. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 45.1 points, or 0.75%, to close at 6,037.
