Australian equity market finished flat in a relatively quiet session on Tuesday, 10 October 2017. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 was down 1.16 points, or 0.02%, at 5,738.10 points. The broader All Ordinaries index was up 1.96 points, or 0.03%, at 5,807.10 points. On the local index, the big banks and miners were little-changed, while energy stocks were the worst performer, falling by 0.8%. Consumer discretionary stocks were the best performing sector with a 0.66% gain.
