Australia S&P/ASX200 ends 0.15% up

Australian equity market finished session up on Friday, 22 December 2017, buoyed by stronger oil prices and tracking gains in global stock markets. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 stock index was up 0.15% at 6069.7 points. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 663 to 500 and 383 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 1.44% to 10.064 a new 6-months low.
