Basic materials shares gain
Basic materials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Basic Materials index rising 17.65 points or 0.68% at 2617.77 at 09:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, NCL Industries Ltd (up 8.54%), Kamdhenu Ltd (up 7.74%),Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd (up 6.94%),Linde India Ltd (up 5.99%),Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd (up 4.25%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Rushil Decor Ltd (up 4.14%), Pennar Industries Ltd (up 4.01%), Ballarpur Industries Ltd (up 3.92%), Phillips Carbon Black Ltd (up 3.8%), and Grasim Industries Ltd (up 3.18%).
On the other hand, Pokarna Ltd (down 19.98%), Seya Industries Ltd (down 4.98%), and Shiva Cement Ltd (down 4.96%) moved lower.
At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 40.24 or 0.1% at 40396.93.
The Nifty 50 index was up 15.4 points or 0.13% at 11910.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 22.37 points or 0.17% at 13348.77.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 9.93 points or 0.21% at 4659.12.
On BSE,877 shares were trading in green, 684 were trading in red and 86 were unchanged.
