India's fuel product consumption rises 6.8% in October 2016

Consumption of fuel product increased 9.2% to 113.19 mt in April-October 2016
India's fuel product consumption or sales increased 6.8% to 16.49 mt in October 2016 over a year ago. Diesel sales increased 5.1% to 6.67 mt, petcoke 20.7% to 1.84 mt, petrol 13.8% to 2.11 mt and LPG 10.2% to 1.86 mt. Consumption of fuel oil also gained 12.0% to 0.59 mt, lubes/greases 23.1% to 0.29 mt, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) 9.9% to 0.59 mt, others 7.0% to 0.58 mt, naphtha 1.7% to 1.11 mt, and light diesel oil (LDO) 18.6% to 0.04 mt. However, the consumption of bitumen declined 12.3% to 0.44 mt, and kerosene 34.0% to 0.38 mt in October 2016.Consumption or sales of fuel product increased 9.2% to 113.19 mt in April-October 2016 over April-October 2015. Sales of petcoke increased 43.8%, petrol 11.3%, diesel 3.2%, and LPG 11.0%. Consumption of fuel oil also moved up 15.5%, ATF 11.9%, lubes/greases 13.4% and bitumen 6.4%. Further, the consumption of others inched up 3.3%, naphtha 1.3% and LDO 14.4%, but declined for kerosene 13.5% in April-October 2016.
