IT firm Mahindra Satyam rose 6.41% to Rs 103.80, extending Tuesday's 2.31% rise triggered by the Andhra Pradesh high court issuing an order stalling the attachment of fixed deposits belonging to the company by the Enforcement Directorate. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
On BSE, a huge 55.42 lakh shares were traded in the Mahindra Satyam counter as against an average daily volume of 6 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has stayed the provisional attachment order dated 18 October 2012 passed by the Joint Director, Directorate of Enforcement, Hyderabad attaching Mahindra Satyam's fixed deposit accounts of Rs 822 crore. The court has also admitted the writ petition filed by the company.
Auto components maker Bharat Forge rose 5.08% to Rs 266.65. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
