Merck lost 3.21% to Rs 652 at 12:26 IST on BSE after net profit declined 74.58% to Rs 3.55 crore on 6.41% growth in total income from operations to Rs 193.71 crore in Q1 March 2014 over Q1 March 2012.
The Q1 result was announced after market hours on Wednesday, 30 April 2014. The stock market was closed on Thursday, 1 May 2014, on account of May Day.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 38.51 points or 0.17% at 22,456.31.
On BSE, so far 5,724 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 5,496 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 665 and a low of Rs 643.50 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 522.60 on 23 August 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 714.80 on 28 April 2014.
