Japanese stock market closed down on Monday, 15 December 2014, as risk sentiments dented by tracking weak offshore cues and weaker than expected Bank of Japan's quarterly tankan data. The benchmark Nikkei Stock Average dropped 1.57% to 17099.40.
The Bank of Japan's closely watched quarterly "tankan" survey showed that the sentiment index for the large manufacturers edged down to plus 12 from the plus 13 level recorded in September.
