Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index gains 3.13%, NIFTY jumps 1.07%

Nifty Auto index closed up 3.13% at 7914 today. The index has gained 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Motors Ltd added 10.85%, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd jumped 9.95% and TVS Motor Company Ltd gained 6.83%. The Nifty Auto index has fallen 10.00% over last one year compared to the 10.84% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index gained 3.00% and Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.71% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.07% to close at 11586.35 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.17% to close at 39052.06 today.
