Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index gains 9.03%, NIFTY climbs 5.83%

Nifty IT index ended up 9.03% at 12363.45 today. The index has slipped 26.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mindtree Ltd rose 16.93%, Hexaware Technologies Ltd gained 12.40% and Wipro Ltd jumped 10.38%. The Nifty IT index has fallen 21.00% over last one year compared to the 24.09% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index gained 8.63% and Nifty FMCG index added 8.18% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 5.83% to close at 8745.45 while the SENSEX increased 5.75% to close at 29915.96 today.
